The subject is oriented upon the introduction to the design and operation task of cryogenics equipment. The essential principles and technology to achieve very low temperature, suitable material and construction are presented. The examples of manufacturing, montage, installation and operation of the devices intended for production under very low temperatures.
• Thermomechanics and principles of thermal cycles for achieving very low temperature.
• Recommended construction materials and properties for cryogenics.
• Cryogenics materials and thermal insulation.
• Basic types of equipment, working principle and construction – cryocoolers and cryostats.
• Production lines for very low temperatures – air separator, gas liquefier.
• Production lines for very low temperatures – storage and transport of liquefied gases.
• Design of the cryogenic equipment, heat balance.
• Strength and stress calculations, mechanical tension of equipment.
• Manufacturing, montage and maintenance of cryogenic equipment.
• Sealing, materials and leak tests.
• Instrumentation of the cryogenics equipment.
